Hose Carts Vs. Turn Table Reels

Designed from experience, Puck’s hose carts and turn table reels have increased efficiency in the liquid transfer industry. Both hose carts and turn table reels offer unique qualities with different benefits to a liquid transfer operation. In the agriculture industry, a hose cart or reel can help collect and deploy field hoses without damaging the hose.

Both hose carts and turn table reels feature Puck’s signature arch guard design. The arch guard prevents the hose from spilling over the sides of the reel. The durable tapered domes on the reel ends prevent the hose from rolling, twisting and cuffing while reeling the hose. This prevents damage and increases the lifetime of your hose. With features like this, operators can use the tongue to swivel on the HC 16 or center to pivot on the TTR 20 which give the ability to fill the cart to the edges without damaging the hose. These patented features and the heavy-duty steel are found throughout construction, and the LED lights are built-in for legal road travel between jobs.

Hose Carts

One of the major differences between hose carts and turn table reels is the size. Puck’s HC 16 is a single axle hose cart that holds 9 pieces of 8” hose, whereas a TTR 20 turn table reel has a tandem axle that holds 16 pieces of 8” hose. Both the TTR 20 and the HC 16 come with standard 710/45 R tires and the option of 425/65 R if needed. The second axle and size difference allows the TTR 20 more floatation capabilities.

Just because the HC 16 is smaller, does not mean it is less durable. This single-person operation has a 12 ft long tongue allowing you to leave your hose humper hooked up. It also provides better visibility and efficiency. The standard 710/45 R 22.5 tires handle speed and road friction better than the previous 700/50R 22.5. Additionally, the tires have more wearability due to the more aggressive tread.

Better tires aren’t the only high-quality standard regarding HC 16s; angled lights, swivel tongue, arch guard, tapered dome, and a swivel pintle hitch with a safety chain are also included. All of these premium features take the jolt out of rough terrain, keeping you — and your operation — moving, as it increases efficiency, protects hose against damage, and provides many safety advantages. The HC 16 can easily be maneuvered in tight areas or building sites, making it the ideal hose cart for tackling multiple job sites.

Puck hose carts make laying out and rolling up hose easier and efficient. The simple in-cab operation saves time, increases safety, and allows you to cover more territory. The hydraulically-articulated tongue winds the hose from side to side, making it easy to lay out hose. It also helps in leaving slack to maneuver around obstacles. With the same innovative features as Puck’s traditional hose carts, the turn table reels are built for premium performance.

A bit larger than hose carts, turn table reels are another industry leader for the liquid manure transfer industry. Puck’s TTR 20 offers 120 degrees of rotation and allows operators to place hose more precisely. A higher reel clears up the operator’s line of sight, making it easy to fill the cart. Beneath the reel, the slewing bearing swivel is covered so that no dirt or debris is dropped below.

The size of Puck’s turn table reels offer an even higher capacity for hose than the traditional carts, giving operators the chance to cover more territory. The standard TTR 20 can manage two miles of 8" hose plus drags and can hold 1 1/2 miles of 10" hose plus drags. Single-person operation using the tractor’s hydraulics allows you to eliminate downtime effectively.

Hose carts and turn table reels both offer unique qualities to the industry. Designed for a one-man job, Puck hose carts are efficient and safe for a single operator. Each piece of equipment is designed to ease the long hours of liquid transfer and pumping.
