BullDog Donates Hose to Mainland High School
Mainland High School, located in Daytona, Florida, has a variety of career and technical education courses for students. Among those courses is the firefighting program, where students develop technical skills for the firefighting and public safety industry. BullDog Hose Company had the opportunity to send Mainland some hose to utilize in their Fire Service Program to help students build skills.
BullDog Hose sent Mainland High School a few lengths of our Hi-Combat interior attack hose for their crosslays. The lay-flat hose was donated to Mainland High School at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Glenn Ingerman, Mainland High School’s Fire Service Program Instructor, noted that “These students would not be able to perform some of the necessary skills this year without it. We were able to perform multiple evolutions involving water flow and hose handling.”
Students had the opportunity to learn how to handle hose and spraying water by using the Hi-Combat hose. “Several of the students expressed interest in returning next year just on being able to spray water alone,” says Ingerman. “It is because of partnerships such as this that the program will be able to reach its full potential in the near future.”
The Hi-Combat hose is a 1.75” diameter lay-flat attack hose with a unique double-jacket design. This hose is available in five colors with high-visibility material woven right into the hose. BullDog can also add up to 32 custom characters sewn into the hose. Hi-Combat is guaranteed to meet specified burst pressure and exceed the NFPA 1961 standard.
