FF4500-45 Product Overview
In non-traditional fire scenes, a fire hydrant may not be readily available, and the drop tank can run out of water quickly for large fires. Big fires need big water with high flows. Puck’s Force Feed Trailer is a water supply solution feeding high capacity water over long distances. The FF4500-45 can utilize any open body of water to quickly and safely establish a water supply. The trailer can achieve flow rates over 4,000 gallons per minute without deploying a floating submersible pump or hydraulic lines.
Trailer Features
Puck’s FF4500-45 features a 45’ long hydraulic boom to reach out, down, up and over to get to your source of water. The knuckle boom design can be controlled with manual levers on the trailer or remote control for wireless boom placement from a safe distance. The 8” boom pipework and 6”-10” discharge connections can achieve flow rates up to 4,500 GPM powered by a 577 HP pump engine. The mounted submersible pump on the boom is surrounded by a cage to prevent obstructions from entering the system. Combined with a Cornell 8NHG19 pump with 19” impeller, the Force Feed Trailer provides maximum displacement.
Electric over hydraulic downriggers provide rapid stabilization and fast deployment when arriving on scene without turning on the engine. The LightSpeed control system provides hydraulic gate control, as well as accurate flow readings via 8” KROHNE flow tube. With LightSpeed’s advanced pump protection technology, operators can regulate pressures and add another layer of safety without adding more people. Real-time asset control is at your fingertips. Operators can monitor and adjust engine speeds, open and close valves, and make real-time, data-based decisions. LightSpeed’s auto-throttle allows operators to set parameters for added monitoring and automatic responses for added safety.
Trailer Size & Runtime
The Puck Fire Force Feed Trailer has a total length of just over 34 feet including the gooseneck chassis. This compact length makes it easily maneuverable into hard to reach places. The trailer has a fuel capacity of 360 gallons of diesel and 24 gallons of DEF for a run time of up to 14 hours. Storage space at the front of the trailer provides room for foam concentrate totes. Integrate with water at the beginning stages of water transfer to provide more efficient fire suppression.
The gooseneck chassis of the FF4500-45 can be pulled to the fire with a Puck Quick Attack truck to provide a fast setup water supply solution. Watch the Puck Fire Force Feed Trailer in action on our YouTube channel. Call (712) 655-9200 to set up a live demonstration.
