With each size increase in diameter for hose, capacity for slurry is expanded, thus decreasing the pressure loss. As we cover in Pump School, a single length of 6” hose operating at 2,000 gallons per minute (GPM) will see a pressure loss of 53 PSI. Increasing your hose size to 8” in diameter for the same flow rate and length of hose will see just 13 PSI in pressure loss. With LDH, you’ll see improved flow rates or longer distances utilizing the same pump and operating parameters.
