PCE International Celebrates 10 Years of Business

This year, PCE International is celebrating a decade in business. Located in Osijek, Croatia, the Puck International office began as an extension of the Midwest innovation in bringing dragline operations to Europe. Puck International provides sales and service to farmers across Eastern Europe in areas geographically similar to America’s Midwest.

Puck first began selling equipment after creating the hose cart in 2005. Less than 10 years later, Puck International was established in 2014 after massive growth. The opening of the Croatia office was the beginning to more Puck equipment sales in Canada and overseas. The demand for Puck’s dragline operation equipment grew as dragline and injection as a manure application method became more common.

How it Began

Robert Spajic first heard about Puck Enterprises as a student at Iowa State University in 2008. A professor introduced him to Jeremy and Ben Puck, and Speich couldn’t believe the efficiency Puck claimed to have. “I couldn’t believe they were getting 1,200 gallons a minute. Was it realistic or just a marketing gimmick? I came and stayed for seven days to measure the lagoons and check the flowmeters myself,” Robert recalled. “Eventually we began to discuss the potential and solutions for the European market, where we had huge issues at the time. We agreed to try setting up one dragline system, and that was our first international export for Puck as a company,” said Robert. By 2014, Robert had negotiated with Puck to create the first international location.

Since opening, Puck Enterprises has made it a priority to work closely with growers in the European livestock production industry to help solve manure application problems. Near-regular shipments of equipment take place to fulfill demands in the European market. Osijek is one of the largest cities in Croatia, and is a two hour drive from places like Ukraine, Hungary, and Serbia. Each of these countries have vast agricultural sectors that can benefit from manure transport and injection. Overall, the European market offers many opportunities for Puck Enterprises to expand its presence overseas.

10 Years Since Opening

Today, PCE International has more than 30 liquid manure transport systems working across more than 1,500 miles throughout Eastern Europe. “Accumulation of capital is strongly raised if you’re managing this business like we are,” said Robert. “We brought something new to the European market, and we will see how that impacts Europe in the next 45 years.”

Puck International was the first satellite store for Puck Enterprises, and more stores in Iowa, South Dakota, and New York have opened since. Find a location near you, or find the sales representative for your area.
