Pump Class Descriptions

101: Dragline Fundamentals
This introductory class covers team roles and responsibilities, along with safety considerations for manure application operations. These include how to safely operate equipment, handle the lay-flat hose, operate the dragline in the field and be conscious of environmental concerns when pumping.

201: Operations and Crew Management
This level is a management class covering how to set up systems, along with how to place pumps for best efficiencies and flow. The session includes learning how to read pump performance curves and how to calculate friction loss in a hose. Discussions from 101 are continued, such as how to plan in the field, and how the crew works together to operate the system efficiently.

Combined Course
For single-day events, Puck’s staff offers a shortened combination of both 101 and 201 sessions.
