Justin Zimmerman | National Welding Month

April has been designated as National Welding Month since 1996 to bring awareness to the career of welding and opportunities the trade offers. To celebrate National Welding Month this year, we checked in with some Puck welders to see what they had to say about the job.

Justin Zimmerman joined Puck’s welding team within the Fabrication department in early 2024. Although he is new to Puck, he wasn’t new to welding. “I’ve been welding my whole life, since I was a kid in my dad’s shop growing up,” said Justin. “I went to autobody school and learned to do more welding there.” Justin’s childhood interest went on to become his career. “I enjoy welding because I like watching two pieces of metal come together and know that I did that.”

Justin notes that he has enjoyed working for Puck Enterprises. “I really enjoy working for Puck’s because it’s a family. They treat you like a family member and not a number on a piece of paper,” said Justin. That familial feeling can partially be attributed to the community Puck is located in. “Being back in the Manning area, small town country living, it’s common here.”
Between the job itself and the team he’s joined, Justin is enjoying his time here. “I’d say I really enjoy everything at Puck’s. Like I said, I’m brand new, so everything right now is exciting and fun to do.” To learn more about Puck welders, check out our Facebook page for features and videos.
