Creekside Custom Ag Testimonial
Cory Holerud with Creekside Custom Ag in Wisconsin met up with salesman Phil Brown at Puck Enterprises in Manning. The two got together after a Pump School session to talk about how far Creekside has come since starting in 2017. Operating in central Wisconsin, the crew started applying 17 million gallons of liquid manure in their first Fall season. As of Spring 2023, they are applying 62 million gallons, expecting to end the year applying 120 million gallons.
Creekside Custom Ag originally bought a TTR 20 and five miles of 10” hose. At a later date, they added FF 5770 T to their lineup, which helped improve pit pumping. “We can set up on the farm right away,” says Cory. “We’ve got a couple farms with vertical walls and every pit isn’t the same, so depending on the situation and how big it is, we can just pull up, set the boom in, and go.”
As Phil reports, the Force Feed 5770 Tandem “pumps at about 3,800 gallons a minute, which we’ve done with Cory before.”
“Yeah, we did that this spring,” replies Cory. “We were at one location here probably 2 ½ - 3 miles out when we did that.”
“He’s got a couple of the 5770 Warthogs,” continues Phil. “With the Warthog, this is another way of force feeding. We use a stem pump involved here, and hook up to our hydraulic outlets. Our inflow goes through our 10” pipe in the back.”
As someone with firsthand experience, Cory had some positive feedback on the WH 5770. “Cut out, tear down, is easy with them. I like the new design as we’re laying the hose in the ditch. We can back it in, depending on what side of the road we are on, versus having to be up front to get in with the corn field or a fence roll or something like that. This new design has made things a lot easier.”
